Here’s a timely holiday cartoon that was likely rejected because it mentions sex offenders. While it’s not about a real sex offender--or even a real person (sorry, kids, Santa doesn’t have a social security number)--that’s irrelevant. Sex offenders and sex offenses in abstract are knee-jerk enough to be entirely un-joke-about-able.

At its core, this cartoon is about how maybe we’ve gone too far in our all-out no-questions-asked pursuit of sex offenders (or those perceived to be), but out in the real world, we’ve already gone so far that even a cartoon about this thought might as well be a sex offense in itself. I sure hope this doesn’t get me on the list.
